Open IGC 2012 - The next awesome tournament to attend

The next Go tournament of the EPFL club will be held the 17th and 18th of March 2012, in the beautiful BC building at EPFL, Lausanne Switzerland.
First prize is 500 CHF !
We will be able to offer basic accommodation within EPFL for FREE !!! That's right.
As each year, we will have Credit Suisse as sponsorship, and we can't thanks them enough for their help.
This year, In-Seong Hwang 7D will be there to do workshop, comments of party and many more.
Beginners are welcome to come to learn the basics of the game !

Yunguseng League Season 2

The season 2 of the Yunguseng Dojang has started. It's a joint venture between the Swissgo and the Belgo Federation. This season brings some changes: It's now only one game per week (instead of two) and 5 games per month (instead of 7). The number of reviews though increased and there are 3 lessons per month as usual. In the lessons In-seong introduces tons of new insperational go techniques which you then practice in the league games and in the reviews he will show you how to fix all these gaps between theory and practice and make you play better games.

Swiss Go Camp at Montbonvon

This year's camp was full of exciting games between the 20 participants. Besides that, we played against our Master In-seong and watched his Lessons and Reviews. The Hotel de la Gare at Montbonvon proved to be a really suitable place to held the camp and will be used probably for future camps, next April or August probably :). Photos, EGD

13rd Geneva Active Go

The Ko Go Club has organized his 13rd Active Go the 4th december. 32 participants, a good average number (record was 2007, 47 participants).
Rick Wertenbroek has won the tournament in front of Hung Fioramonti & Felicien Mazille.
From the head trio, 2 were students of the Swiss yunguseng Dojang and 7/8 students have above 50%, that means the league is worth it.
As the tournament is with handicap, the winners are those who have made the more progress and became underrated.
Big thanks to the organiser S�bastien Koch (Ko Go Club) & Wang Jie from the Chinese Restaurant Lin-Xiang that did as usual both a perfect job.

12. Winterthurer Turnier

Das 12. Winterthurer Go-Turnier fand diesen Samstag wieder einmal in der alten Kaserne statt.
17 Denkkraftsportler haben sich durch ihre Gegner zu H�chstleistungen anspornen lassen. Ein erstaunlicher erster Platz hat Lorenz Trippel aus Z�rich dadurch eingenommen, dass er sage und schreibe alle vier Gegen�ber bezwang; eine Doping-Kontrolle wurde nicht durchgef�hrt. Am anderen Ende hat ein 25 Kyu Spieler keck alle Partien zu Ende gespielt und sich trotz vier Niederlagen nicht entmutigen lassen: Hut ab! Wie immer waren die Tische mit wei�en und schwarzen Konfekt-Kugeln geschm�ckt - diese konnte man sich nach einer Niederlage geben bzw. nach einem Sieg g�nnen.

Beno�t wins 4 out of 6

Beno�t played an excellent tournament at this years Korean Prime Minister Cup. There were participants from 68 countries and Switzerland won as many games as the best European did. Winner is the 11year old Chinese Chen Zijian, 2nd place Korea, 3rd Japan.

Championnat de Gen�ve

32 personnes ont particip� au tournoi annuel de Gen�ve dans la confortable salle communale de Veyrier. Suspens tout au long du week-end, joutes serr�es. Tout restait encore ouvert pour la 2e place avant la 5e ronde, promise � Patrice, S�bastien Ott ou Benoit. C'est finalement Benoit F�lix qui a r�ussi � s'en emparer. Derri�re un magnifique sans faute de S�bastien Koch qui remporte "son" tournoi f�tiche.

European Team Championship 2011 / 12

The next season of the European Team Championship has started. Switzerland made it to the league B after the good result in its last participation in league C. We will face some very strong teams from countries like Slovenia, Israel, Belgium, Serbia and many others. The games are played once a month usually on a Tuesday at 20:00 online on the IGS / Pandanet server, check out the schedule / standings.
Hwang In-seong is the coach of the swiss team and he will give review / training lessons usually next day after the games Wednesdays on KGS in the swiss room around 21:00, it's open for all to join, don't miss it!

Karl der Grosse Turnier Z�rich

Fast 40 Spieler haben zum diesj�hrigen Karl der Grosse Turnier gefunden. Das Turnier ist wieder zur�ck im Clubhaus Karli direkt neben dem Grossm�nster in der Innenstadt. Es war sch�n sonnig und warm man konnte drinnen und draussen spielen, direkt in der Sonne war Sonnenhut und -brille eine ganz gute Spielstrategie! Michael Palant hat gewonnen vor Jonas Jermann 2ter und Thomas Koller, der den 3ten Platz belegt hat.
